Joint Program of EMIS and UWC

The Arava Valley of Peace Summer Course was established according to the vision of UWC and EMIS in order to bring together motivated youth from the entire world and specifically from the Middle East for a unique educational experience. The first short course is dated back to 1992, and since then 5 short courses were conducted. The course is always a life changing experience for all of its participants.
15 days summer program of 40 participants, aged 15-18, with the purpose of creating a network of Israeli, Palestinian and international youth change-makers who will spread the values of peace and activism in their communities.
Identity. Community. Conflict. Activism.
These four themes will lead us in our journey to the Desert, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Participants will explore these themes through group building activities, morning hiking trips, empowering workshops, and meeting people from all spectrum of the Palestinian and Israeli society. The participants will also reflect upon the connection of the themes to their lives, and plan a tangible community-project.
