EMIS students from Cambridge, DP1, and DP2 went to Yad Vashem, The World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem. They were divided into Mentor Groups and learned about the Holocaust from historical perspectives by looking at photographs, artworks, letters, documents and personal items found in the camps and ghettos.

Also, students heard a talk by a daughter of a Righteous Among the Nations who saved many Jews from the Nazis, and they visited the Children's Memorial and reflected on the many children killed during the Holocaust.

Although it was a very emotional and loaded experience, this trip allowed students to see the actual impact of the Holocaust.

“This trip allowed me to connect not only the history of the Holocaust but also, to get a deeper sense of some of my classmates who have personal connection with this tragic event '' - Irene Diaz, a DP2 student, Spain.
