Mission Week is one of the highlights of the EMIS experience. For five days, students leave the classroom behind and set out across Israel to explore communities, cultures, landscapes, and some of the most important social and environmental questions facing our region.
What makes Mission Week unique is that it is designed by students, for students. Working in small groups, participants travel throughout the country, meet people from different backgrounds, engage with local initiatives, and experience the complexity and diversity of Israeli society firsthand. Along the way, they build friendships, challenge assumptions, and gain a deeper understanding of the values at the heart of EMIS: peace, sustainability, community, responsibility, and active citizenship.
More than a field trip, Mission Week is an opportunity to learn through experience, step outside of your comfort zone, and see the world from a new perspective. It is a week of discovery, connection, and growth that many students remember as one of the most meaningful parts of their time at EMIS.
